Account Deletion
Delete your Bharat101 account
Applies to the Bharat101 public app (BHARAT101 on Google Play), published by Shivay Fire & Life Safety (India) Pvt. Ltd. — an independent, privately-run app, not a government service.
How to request deletion in the app
- Open the Bharat101 app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Account Details.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm on the "Permanent Account Deletion" screen that appears, then confirm with your fingerprint/face or your account password.
No longer have the app?
Email info@shivays.com with the subject "Delete my Bharat101 account", from the email address on your account (or quote the mobile number you registered with). We will check that the request is from you, then delete the account and the data listed below within 30 days.
Requesting deletion in the app signs you out immediately. Logging back in within 30 days cancels the deletion and restores your account and data, apart from anything that has already expired under the normal retention periods in our Privacy Policy — there is no separate "undo" button, logging in is the undo.
What happens after you request it
- Your account is immediately marked for deletion and you are signed out. We also stop sending notifications to your phone. Your profile, posts and circle memberships stay visible to other people as before until the deletion is carried out.
- If you don't log back in within 30 days, your account and the data listed below are permanently deleted.
- If you log back in at any point in that window, the deletion is cancelled automatically.
What gets deleted
- Your account details: name, phone number, email address, profile photo and password
- The emergency contacts and blocked numbers you saved
- Your SOS sessions and live-location trails, your circle location history, and the access-restricted location record we keep for safety
- Your membership in circles you joined, circles you own (this also removes them for their other members), and places you pinned in circles
- Your circle chat messages, Community posts, replies, polls, reactions and reports
- The photos you attached to circle chats, Community posts and local alerts — we remove the stored image files too (photos from before September 2026, and any file a storage provider could not remove at the time, are removed on request at info@shivays.com)
- Your safety devices, NOC records, and premises/alarm registrations and their alarm events
- Your assistant chat history, quiz progress, badges, rank and points
- Your push notification tokens, any email verification codes, and the per-person file in our backup storage (name, phone number, email, city, profile photo, rank and badges)
What is kept
- Emergency reports you made. The record of the report stays in Bharat101's incident records so there is an accurate history of what was reported. When your account is deleted, your name and phone number are removed from it; the incident details (type, time, location, address, landmark and description) and the staff's notes remain.
- Security logs. Records of sign-in and account events and of blocked or suspicious requests, including IP address and device type, are kept for at least 180 days and for as long as needed to investigate security incidents or meet legal obligations. They identify your account by an internal ID, not by your name. Server access and application logs are kept for about 90 days.
- Backups. Routine backups of our systems are kept for a limited period and then overwritten. Deleted data disappears from them as they expire.
- Anonymous records that are not linked to your account, including the wording of questions put to the HowToSurvive assistant (stored against a random session code), and technical records that identify an app installation by an internal ID rather than by name.
- Our correspondence with you about a deletion request, kept as a record that it was handled.
- What other people hold. Contacts that other people saved with your phone number, and copies held by the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy (for example, the text of a HowToSurvive question that was sent to Google's Gemini service).
